In a symbolic gesture of solidarity and appreciation for the brave soldiers serving at one of the world's most challenging terrains, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be travelling to Siachen Glacier and taking part in the Holi celebration at the location. Siachen Glacier, often referred to as 'the highest battlefield in the world,' is not only a strategic military outpost but also a testament to the resilience and sacrifice of Indian Armed Forces personnel stationed there.
This isn't the first time Rajnath Singh has visited the area. In 2019, he visited Siachen and personally interacted with the troops, gaining firsthand insights into their challenges and experiences. During that visit, he reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of soldiers deployed in such demanding environments.
Preparations are currently underway for the Defence Minister's visit. Holi celebrations, typically a time of joyous revelry and camaraderie, will be of special significance for the Indian forces stationed at the location as they are joined by one of the nation's top leaders.
